what next?

After discussing our initial ideas as a group, the process of illimination left us with some stand out ideas. These were still quite vage but could be developed.

We then had the vital input we need from Damian in which we were advised to undertake the supplied brief entitled 'Four Seasons' :

MAUCCAEPSOM

Brief Six

Major Project

Four seasons

Designers are to create a series of 4 seasonal in-depth brand design campaigns for two of the international Coffee shop Café Brands over 2009

1. Identify & explore the brand evolution & revolution of 2 Coffee shop Café identities

2. Identify & explore 4 seasonal themes for your 2 brands

3. Explore a theoretical underpinning to your project themes

4. Explore a variety of media channels

5. Build a clear time managed plan of work

6. Explore your competition strengths & weaknesses between your 2 Café Brands.

Designers interim research presentations will be held on:

Thursday 3rd July starting 10.30am in the MA room

Designers final presentations will be held on:

Thursday 21st August starting 10.30am in the MA room

This Brief is certainly a possibility but we do not want to rule out any other possibilities just yet. With this in mind we were also advised to try and contact industry professionals to have them set us a professional brief.  With the success of the Marc newson project, I decided to contact the BBC to find out weather they could help us with this. If this was unsuccessful we would continue with the supplied brief shown above...
here is the email that was sent to Zoe Silver on 03/06/2008 :

Hi Zoe,

It's Peter Allinson from the University for the Creative arts, Epsom. I hope all is well at the BBC. First of all I would like to thank you again for the wonderful opportunity that you gave us, working on the Marc Newson project. It was a great addition to our body of work throughout semester one and two. Both of which have been highly successful resulting in our team being awarded the MA 'design team of the year'.

We are now currently beginning semester three of our MA and are in the process of organising our final major project.

We have already been supplied with an interesting (but optional) brief involving the creation of four seasonal design campaigns for two international coffee shop brands. The alternative to this is to contact industry professionals to set us a professional brief to be undertaken as our final major project. We feel that this is a great opportunity to work on an industry standard project and expand our professional portfolio.

I was wondering weather you would be able to help us with this. We would be very grateful if you could send us any past, current, or even live briefs that would be suitable for a major project.
The major project will last approximately 10 weeks (with immediate effect) and must reflect a minimum of 600 hours of work.

Anything you can provide us with will be gratefully received.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Kind regards,
Add One Egg.
