Hollys Coffee - Four Elements

- Holly's coffee is a Korean brand.

The concept of elements forms the basis of both Buddhism and Hinduism.

-  Buddism exercised a far-reaching influence on Korean culture throughout its long history.

The korean flag

The four trigrams of the flag are:

  • ||| Force (☰; geon (건; ) in Korean) = spring (春)
  • ¦¦¦ Field (☷; gon (곤; )) = summer ()
  • |¦| Radiance (☲; ri (리; )) = autumn ()
  • ¦|¦ Gorge (☵; gam (감; )) = winter ()

Traditionally, the four trigrams are related to the Five Elements of fire, water, earth, wood, and metal. An analogy could also be drawn with the four western classical elements.

Are both ideas (4 suits & 4 elements) connected?

In divinatory tarot, the suits of cups, swords, wands (batons) and pentacles (coins) are said to correspond to water, air, fire, and earth respectively. These correspond in the modern deck of playing cards to hearts, spades, clubs, and diamonds.
